Formation of Silver-PAMAM Dendrimer Nanocomposites Using Electromagnetic Radiation

In the present research silver – polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimer (with amino surface groups) nanocomposites
were formed by UV irradiation. The formation of silver nanoparticles was monitored by UV-VIS spectroscopy. It is
shown that the UV irradiation is a productive formation method. Formed nanocomposites were transferred onto the solid
substrates (silica covered with polymer (polycarbonate or polymethylmethacrylate) layer). Solutions of nanocomposites
and samples with transferred nanocomposites were exposed to irradiation by γ rays. The effect of radiation was analyzed
considering the optical (UV-VIS spectra) and AFM measurements. It was shown that high energy photons induced
changes of the size of nanocomposites in the solution and the morphology of the transferred nanocomposites.
